The Last Walk Home depicts the artist's continued visits down the quiet, sleepy pathways which she navigated through during the early years of her career.

Her cental image often returns to the silhouette of her brother as he carries himself home after another difficult day. At the time which these were created Soo Rye opened and closed almost a dozen small stuidos in Downtown Seoul. Struggling to work as both an artist and teacher was difficult, however in the blur of those early years she developed greatly.

The inspiration which led to her breaking out came through a metaphor for her hope.

In each village, still life and person she realized ther was a small but incredibly bright light. This light captured her true feelings and began to shine through each new painting.
